CMI is expanding, and we're looking for a Health and Safety Specialist to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert health and safety services, including developing procedures, conducting training, performing risk assessments, and preparing concise reports.
• Stay abreast of industry knowledge through active participation in professional associations, literature review, networking, and presentations.
• Conduct onsite observations and recommend safe work practices in a lab setting and other environments.
• Conduct site specific orientations and safety training classes in various environments.
• Foster a positive safety culture within the team

Requirements and Experience:

• 5 plus years working as a safety trainer and consultant
• Experience training a wide variety of safety courses
• Ability to create safety presentations
• Engaging and personable presenter
• Strong customer service skills
• Experience writing work place risk assessments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Ability to travel from time to time is helpful

Education and Credentials

• Bachelors degree in a Health and Safety discipline
• Professional credentials such as ASP, SMS, OHST or CHST
• OSHA 501 preferred
• First Aid CPR Instructor preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs
• Ability to stoop, crawl and bend

Other Requirements:

• Background check and potential drug screening required for the position
• Overtime and flexible working hours may be necessary based on project demands
• Residence within a reasonable commuting distance
