POSITION SUMMARY
The Payment Poster is responsible for overseeing the intake of payments, processing both Paper and ERA checks, reconciling on a monthly basis and other duties under the supervision of the leader of revenue cycle.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Post patient payments via mail or lockbox

• Post payments received electronically
• Resolve all edits, paper and virtual credit cards
• Reconcile balances including insurance and patient credits
• Identify takeback and adjustments within a current EOB or notification of a future recoupment
• Experience with JP Morgan helpful

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent

• • • Minimum of 2 years' experience in payment posting
    • Experience in any of the following EMR's such as Epic, ECW, Modmed, IMS and Nextgen EMR preferred
    • Understanding of Explanation of Benefits, Reason Codes, payments, adjustments, and denials is required
    • Experience with EFTs and ERAs required
    • Previous experience with billing and collections helpful
