Brookwoods Group is working with a large full-service oil and gas company to fill a commercial contract position. The Automation Technician role is an 8-month assignment working in the shale fields, Upton County, TX. The right individual will perform installation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting for automation equipment. If you have strong technical acumen and can work autonomously with little supervision you could be a perfect fit.

MUST HAVE WITHOUT EXCEPTION:

1. Must have 3 years of relevant automation work experience.
2. Must have current/valid driver’s license.
3. Must have the ability to create and update reports as needed.
4. Must have experience performing work under DOT and OSHA regulations.
5. Must have strong troubleshooting skills.

Preferred but not required:

• Associate degree or Trade Certificate or hire in instrumentation, electronics, electrical technology.
• 5 years’ experience in the automation field.
• 1 years’ experience with communication Equipment (Cell Modems, Radios, Network Switches, etc.)
• 1 years’ experience with Allen Bradley, Fisher Roc, Automation Direct, ABB, SCADA Pack, Redlion) (i.e., PLC’s, HMI, drives, etc.)
• 1 year experience in PLC Programming
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.

Details:

• This is a full-time position as our employee working under contract at our client’s location – Pegasus or Chickadee field office.
• Compensation includes salary dependent on your experience.
• Benefits are offered, but not covered by the company.
• This is a 5-day 10 hour a day work schedule with 2 days off with rotating on call schedule.
