General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our Air Force customer in Hampton, VA. The GDIT Air Defense Communications Service program and its employees have the responsibility of maintaining 99.999% availability for the DoD/Air Force Air Defense Communications Systems, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. How a Senior Network Engineer Will Make an Impact: * Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
* Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks
* Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability
* Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
* Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks
* Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks
* Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
* Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
* May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals What You'll Need to Succeed: * Active Secret clearance (TS eligible)
* Must meet the certification requirement of DoD Directive 8140.01 and 8570.01-M or otherwise stated in individual task order.
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) (Highly Preferred)
* Enterprise Level Network Experience
* Onsite in Hampton, Virginia

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
