Woodbury, NY Associate Attorney

Multistate insurance defense firm seeks highly motivated defense attorneys with litigation experience to join our busy Woodbury, New York office. Candidates must have superior analytical and communication skills. Seeking attorneys with ANY of the following experience:

• Defense attorney admitted in New York or certified for admission.
• Admitted defense attorney with 1-5 years insurance defense litigation experience.
• Admitted defense attorney with 1-5 years’ experience handling professional liability claims.
• Admitted defense attorney with 1-5 years’ experience representing architects and engineers and handling complex construction claims.
• Admitted defense attorney with 1-5 years litigation experience or experience defending construction accident/New York Labor Law claims preferred.
• Admitted defense attorney with 1-3 years’ experience. Employment law experience preferred but not required.
• Admitted defense attorney with 1-3 years’ experience. Litigation experience preferred but not required, but willingness to conduct depositions, motion practice, drafting and attendance of Court appearance in wide ranging venues throughout New York State. Accounting, Business, or Taxation experience a plus, but not required.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Managing own caseload with oversight by partners
• Drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Research and writing of memorandums
• Attending hearings and court conferences
• Conducting and defending depositions
• Attending inspections
• Consulting with expert witnesses
• Attending mediations
• Trial preparation and trial

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
