Automation Technician-Indianapolis, IN Automation Technician As an Automation Technician, you will be a key part of our business in Assembly. Reporting to the Assembly Team Leader, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining automated production systems and equipment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact the robotic and automation equipment performance. What You Will Do: Changeover, operate and maintain automated systems to including Yaskawa Motoman robots, HMI, and conveyor system within defined standard work. Within automated machine cycle, technician will run production on automated kickplate press and cold sealer. Complete periodic checks on both automation and production equipment to efficiently solve problems as detected. Troubleshoot automated system faults to support operations efficiency and quality including minor programming adjustments within defined standard work and under engineering oversite. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, process engineering and materials to ensure timely detection and repair of faulty automated systems. Support implementation of process improvements under guidance of process/controls engineering. Observe and report on daily operations including daily production records and automation performance. Collect data to facilitate and actively problem solve improvements on automated and support systems. Understand and ensure commitment to the safety guidelines within the manufacturing floor and across the plant. Willing to cross-train in other robotic production areas prior to new process start-up. What You Need to Succeed: Experience or ability to learn robotic controls, HMI, quality sensors, conveyor systems, and production equipment. Experience with windows, apps and other computer operating systems. Ability to learn product and finish requirements as it relates to area of automation. 1 year operations/manufacturing experience. Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Basic math and communication skills. Training and or education with robotic programming a plus. Associated Degree or Bachelor’s degree a plus. Willingness and ability to learn and grow within the role. Ability to apply problem solving techniques.
