Mesa seeks a P&C Substation Engineer who will be responsible for the design/check of deliverables associated with substation P&C design projects. Assigned tasks will include the creation and revision of panel front views, AC & DC elementaries, wiring diagrams, and yard equipment diagrams using MicroStation and AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will be able to juggle several projects with competing timelines at the same time and deliver high quality design products on time. A primary responsibility will be detailed checking of projects designed by other more junior associates.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • 3 years of relevant Electrical Substation P&C Design experience
  • Experience performing scoping tasks is desired
  • 4-year engineering degree.
  • Professional Engineering License is strongly preferred but not required if PE license can be obtained within a year.
Responsibilities:
  • Utilize MicroStation and AutoCAD to create assigned deliverables
  • Meet customer's schedule and budget requirements
  • Perform Protection & Control design with high degree of accuracy
  • Perform project scoping activities
  • Check/review other personnel work for accuracy/adherence to client/national standards
  • The selected candidate will be expected to progress into a senior engineering position where they will assume responsibility for all work delivered in the P&C discipline for assigned projects
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional overtime as needed
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers
Location Requirements:
The selected candidate will be required to report to the Chattanooga, TN, Knoxville, TN, Fort Mill, SC office, or remote (for highly qualified individuals) from the southeast US on a full-time basis. After the candidate has established a satisfactory work history, there may be an option for a hybrid in-office/remote work arrangement if local to the Chattanooga/Knoxville/Fort Mill offices. Highly qualified candidates may be considered for a full-time remote position (in the southeast US regions) on a case-by-case basis but in office applicants will be given priority.
