Saratoga Hospital seeks a Part-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Medical Informatics Team at Saratoga Hospital, two days per week.
Summary of Position:
The Clinical Informatics Advanced Practitioner (APP) provides technical and application expertise to design, analyze, and optimize clinical information systems for SHMG to ensure that system design and ongoing utilization achieves Saratoga Hospital and Saratoga Hospital Medical Group's (SHMG) objective of standardization, integration, and efficiency and supports compliance with regulatory requirements.
Currently, our outpatient practices utilize Medent with Meditech in-hospital. Transition to EPIC will take place system-wide in November.
This position requires a good understanding of the end user requirements associated with the systems and applications they support, such as clinical documentation needs, quality measures and CMS requirements. This individual must also be comfortable with providing technical assistance both remotely and in person in a clinical setting.
The Clinical Informatics APP participates in the development of workflows, system configuration, application deployment and support, change documentation and support of staff on application functionality. This requires the individual to stay up-to-date with the applications they support, ensuring they are functional and meet the requirements of those using the system and the organization.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Provides clinical and application expertise to design, analyze, and optimize clinical information systems for providers of the SHMG to ensure that system design and ongoing utilization achieve Saratoga Hospital and SHMG's objective of standardization, integration, and efficiency and supports compliance with regulatory requirements.
Champions Physician/provider adoption of Clinical IT systems and processes across the SHMG and customizes end product based on needs of provider, specialty and/or location while ensuring consistency in workflow across the enterprise.
Acts as point for ongoing clinical questions related to EMR and collaborates with operational support to maximize physician / provider efficiency with the clinical EMR.
Understands key quality metrics and supports organizational achievement of these metrics by monitoring performance, training users how to improve performance and tracking various metrics related to systems use.
Builds strong relationships with customer base (physician/providers, nurses, super users/lead clinical or clerical staff, practice managers) in all locations to support operational efficiencies.
Develops curriculum and educational content as identified by the SHMG IT subcommittee and provides ongoing in-servicing to maintain physician/provider competency.
Provides end-user go-live and ongoing support of new processes and system use. Provides onboarding education to all new physicians/providers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of New York required. Minimum of 5 years' experience working on Electronic Medical Record. Participation on informatics committee, informatics education initiatives or designated super user experience preferred. Previous experience in clinical education, staff development and/or teaching preferred. Curriculum development and instructional design experience preferred.
