    Job Summary:
    The “Program Director” will work with the Director of Student Support Services and other Program Directors to implement and support Special Education programs and 504 Plan compliance in theGresham-BarlowSchool District.
    Essential Job Functions:
    Oversee all program development and operations for the assigned programs under the guidance of the Director of Student Support Services:
    Oversight includes:
    • Attending special services team meetings in schools, as needed
    • Locating needed resources for staff and students beyond what is available in schools
    • Observing students in classrooms and recommending effective interventions
    • Working with principals on assigned program area development, planning and support
    • Supporting and assisting in training educational assistants in assigned programs
    • Communicating with other agencies and individuals on behalf of assigned programs, as needed
    • Arranging for and providing inservice training based upon program needs
    • Developing, implementing and training on policies and procedures in assigned program areas
    • Working with Director of Student Support Services to identify program needs
    • Budget planning for assigned programs
    • Designing, planning and coordinating staff development opportunities for licensed and classified staff
    • Coordinating , meeting with, and guiding district connection with other districts and MESD for assigned areas
    • Overseeing educational assistant support for students with disabilities in the general education setting
    • Serving as a resource regarding legal issues and for conflict resolution purposes
    • At the request of the principal, case manager, or Director of Student Support Services handling cases having unique demands
    • Evaluating certified and classified staff for assigned programs and providing input to the Director of Student Support Services and school administration in the hiring, supervision and evaluation of licensed and classified staff in assigned programs not evaluated by the Office of Student Support Services
    • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services
    Essential Job Requirement – Qualifications
    • Holds an Oregon Administrative license or has the potential of earning one by start date
    • A minimum of 3 years experience working with students with disabilities
    • Knowledge of Regular and Special Education Law
    • Effective and demonstrated skills in:
      • Leadership
      • Planning, development and evaluating special education programs
      • Communication, both in writing and orally
      • Conflict resolution
      • Mediation
      • Interpersonal skills with individuals, teams and groups (student, parent, educator, specialist, administrator and support staff)
      • Working collaboratively with various groups within the school and in the community
      • Providing curriculum and instructional strategy consultation
      • Presenting to small and large groups for staff development
      • Time management
      • Problem-solving and development of solutions
      • Planning and facilitating meetings
      • Gaining consensus in groups and among varied audiences
