  • Frank Residences: Luxurious assisted living and memory care services.
  • Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center: Long-term skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and an acute psychiatric unit specialized in mental healthcare for older adults over 55.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Creative Arts Specialist is entrusted with the responsibility of meticulously planning and executing vibrant, interactive, and captivating creative arts programs tailored for the residents and patients of the Jewish Home. This multifaceted role involves a spectrum of duties, including:

  • Crafting diverse opportunities for social interaction, fostering camaraderie, and nurturing relationships among residents and patients.
  • Collaborating closely with the Director of Life Enrichment to curate and deliver creative arts programs steeped in industry best practices, employing innovative techniques and effective methodologies.
  • Coordinating with Life Enrichment Coordinators to design and implement unit-based creative arts initiatives, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.
  • Cultivating an environment characterized by positivity, education, empathy, and stimulation, is conducive to holistic well-being.
  • Revitalizing residents' engagement in life activities by orchestrating meaningful creative arts experiences that accentuate their physical and cognitive capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in the role of Creative Arts Specialist, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as art, recreational therapy, geriatrics, or education.
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on experience within the geriatric domain or a related field, demonstrating a profound understanding of the dynamics of aging populations.
  • At least two years of prior experience in teaching art within group settings, showcasing adeptness in facilitating creative expression among diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with Jewish culture, customs, and traditions is advantageous, although not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, essential for effective collaboration and program execution.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, enabling clear comprehension and dissemination of instructions.
  • Demonstrated creativity, adaptability, enthusiasm, and self-motivation, coupled with an innovative mindset.
  • Proficiency in utilizing computer applications to streamline administrative tasks and enhance program delivery.
  • Sensitivity to the nuanced physical and emotional needs of individuals across varying health spectrums.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This part-time position entails 20 hours per week to the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation facility.

Shift: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM

Pay range is $26.00 - $28.00 hourly.
