The Role

Join us in creating biological reasoning in generative AI to revolutionize disease understanding and treatment. As a machine learning researcher, you'll work alongside our founders to build a biologically-aware AI platform that understands complex biological relationships and generates novel therapeutics.

• ⁠You will develop new approaches to infuse biological understanding into AI models, innovating on key architectural components to unlock unprecedented capabilities

• You will design and train innovative AI models using large, diverse biological datasets

• You will tackle unique challenges such as extremely long context in biological sequences and multi-modal data

• You will solve challenging AI research problems at scale, tackling key aspects such as model architecture and scaling, pre-training and fine-tuning strategies, and rigorous evaluation methods

• Your work will span various Gen AI architectures, including transformers, autoencoders, GANs, and diffusion models, as well as additional deep learning architectures

No prior biological background required --we'll bring you up to speed on everything you need to know.

Who We’re Looking For

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field

• You have a PhD in Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence or other relevant field with 2 years of research or industry experience

• You have first author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences or journals

• You have experience writing software and executing complex experiments using Python with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn

• You have researched and developed deep learning and generative AI methods

• You have experience scaling machine learning models in a cloud computing environment

• You take pride in delivering high-quality, clean, efficient, and maintainable code, with a keen eye for appropriate design patterns and software architectures

• You exhibit a proactive approach to problem-solving, thinking beyond the specific task, taking ownership of challenges, and pride in solving them

• You have a mature mindset in ambiguous situations, helping to frame questions and seek clarity while making decisions in the face of uncertainty

• You are a clear and concise communicator, conveying information effectively in written and verbal communication, and enjoy collaborating with and guiding colleagues in a multidisciplinary team

• You are motivated by making a real impact and are committed to tackling problems of significant consequence with determination and creativity

Bonus Points

• You have previous experience applying machine learning in biology or chemistry

• You have knowledge of physics, molecular biology, chemistry, or related fields

• You have experience in developing efficient code in C/C

Compensation Range: $120K - $220K
