GRADE: 63

SALARY : Begins at $34,404/Year with comprehensive benefits package

DESCRIPTION OF WORK : This position performs intermediate skilled administrative support work receiving, processing, indexing, verifying, proofing and recording legal documents, providing customer service, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Register of Deeds.

The ideal candidate will possess a general knowledge of the rules, laws, practices and procedures of the Register of Deeds office; general knowledge of North Carolina State Statutes as they are related to operations of the department; general knowledge of office programs and policies; general knowledge of standard office methods and procedures, business English, spelling and arithmetic; ability to operate standard office machines and computers; ability to make decisions relating to assigned operations in conformance with applicable laws and policies; ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public and provide exceptional customer service.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: This positions requires a high school diploma and experience in administrative support, customer support and human resources; an associate degree and bilingual is preferred.
