SCCMHA JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
CLASSIFICATION: Parking Lot Monitor
PROGRAM LOCATION: Hancock
PAY GRADE: $15.20 - $17.37 Hourly
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Customer Service and Recipient Rights and will work in conjunction with Security and Customer Service staff to ensure that parking procedures are followed by all those working or visiting the 500 Hancock building. Will work on a daily basis outside the building to monitor the parking lots. This position will be knowledgeable about and actively support culturally competent recovery based practices; person centered planning as a shared decision making process with the individual, who defines his/her life goals and is assisted in developing a unique path toward those goals; and a trauma informed culture of safety to aid consumer in the recovery process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
1. Works as an extension of the Security Guards to check on parking in the parking lots used for the 500 Hancock building.
2. Complete walk through of all parking lots used for 500 Hancock to look for appropriate parking permits where required.
3. Will ticket vehicles not parked according to our policy.
4. Documents license plate numbers as well as car color and make for any tickets placed on vehicles.
5. Notifies Security of any concerns or questions about vehicle parking rules.
6. Provide Security Guards with information gathered on any tickets placed on vehicles not following appropriate parking rules.
7. Works with the Supervisor of Customer Services/Recipient Rights Office on any issues that are raised with the parking policy and rules to ensure the best possible practices are up to date and efficient.
8. Understands and supports Agency goals, mission statement and values.
9. Comply and be familiar with agency policy and procedure.
10. Participate in staff meetings as needed.
11. Monitors and keeps SCCMHA parking lots neat and clean.
12. Perform other functions as requested by the Supervisor of Customer Services/Recipient Rights Office.
13. Adheres to the mission, vision, core values and operating principles of SCCMHA at all times.
INCIDENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Performs a variety of tasks when needed, which could include sorting and organizing various publications, moving items to storage, and cleaning and straightening the lobby as needed.
2. Reacts productively to change.
3. Uses computer hardware and software to perform tasks as needed.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Supervisor of Customer Services and Recipient Rights
Supervises: None
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:
Works in office environment with pressures dealing with time constraints. Will be working primarily outside monitoring parking stickers and will be working in all kinds of inclement weather. May come in conduct with individuals who are angry or potentially violent. In these situations will need to use judgment and discernment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent with the ability to read and understand written communication.
Experience: Prior experience preferred, but not required.
License and Certification: Must have proper identification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. A belief that individuals with a serious mental illness can live productive lives.
2. Ability to plan, organize and complete work in a timely fashion.
3. Effective oral and written communication skills.
4. Must have the computer skills to be able to perform simple tasks as requested.
5. Ability to work as a member of a team.
6. Ability to accept constructive supervision.
7. Knowledge and support for person centered planning concepts.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
1. Hearing acuity to converse in person and on telephone.
2. Visual Acuity to track and record license information from vehicles.
3. Ability to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time.
4. Manual dexterity to write and to operate standard office equipment (PC, Keyboard, Copy Machine, Fax Machine, etc.)
5. Ability to lift and carry files and supplies at least 10 pounds.
6. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with leadership, employees, consumers and the general public.
