SafeHaven of Tarrant County is Hiring a Counselor - Women & Children Near Fort Worth, TX

SafeHaven is seeking Counselor for Adult Women & Children 
This position provides direct counseling services to women and children(highly preferred), and groups as needed, at all agency service sites as assigned by the supervisor. Provide short-term counseling services and applicable mental health resources. Assess client needs and refer clients to appropriate agency programs and outside support services as needed. Position could be Part-Time 20/25hrs per week. May be required, as needed, to work some evening hours/or some Saturday mornings to meet the service demands. Independently manage time with little supervision.
The position has significant responsibilities such as high ethical standards in line with the rules set forth by the appropriate licensing board. Ensure intake assessments, outcome measures, and treatment plans are completed. Complete and submit all required paperwork in a timely manner.

The specific qualifications for this role are:
  • Licensed as LPC-A, LPC, LMFT or LCSW, 
  • Experience in play therapy preferred
  • Minimum two years’ experience in the field of family violence, victim services or related work required.
  • Knowledgeable of, and sensitive to, concerns of domestic violence and understanding the effects of trauma.
  • Knowledge of Intimate Partner Violence, gender-based violence, and crisis intervention strategies required.
  • Ability to provide culturally competent services and work with diverse staff and clientele in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner.
  • Strong organization and time management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment.
