Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver high quality of care in basic and advanced dental services in all phases of dentistry to patients
• Diagnose and treat the oral cavity and dentition for infants, children and adolescents from birth to adolescent within the scope of pediatric dentistry using behavioral management and/or nitrous oxide
• Scope of care shall include education in oral and dental hygiene, caries prevention, caries risk assessment, risk-based recall, self-management goals, and nutritional counseling involving children and parents
• Demonstrate close attention to detail and communicate clearly and concisely utilizing effective strategies with both adults and children
• Through teamwork and accountability resolve patient complaints and concerns
• Assist in the Dental Services' peer review, including auditing charts, and quality improvement projects
• Ensure compliance with regulating agencies (OSHA, CDC, HRSA, and Dental Board of California)
• Maintain records/documents in accordance with dental policies and procedures, contractual obligations and funding sources
• Able to handle complex and special needs cases
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Current California license to practice dentistry
• DDS or DMD degree preferred
• Two-year post graduate program specializing in pediatric dentistry
• Prior experience in community dentistry preferred
• Demonstrated ability to respond with patience, adaptability and compassion to children and parents of children from diverse cultures and various lifestyles
• Demonstrated empathy and strong personable skills when interacting with children and parents
• Covid vaccinations
