Responsibilities:
The Clinical Endoscopy Technician (CET) is a caregiver who assists the Endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures and assists in the preparation of the suite between cases. The CET works under the direct supervision of the Endoscopy physician and/or Registered Nurse. Applies clinical knowledge and technical skills to assist during Endoscopy procedures under the direction of the physician or RN Reviews planned cases and ensures all necessary equipment and devices are available on the unit. Sets up required equipment in anticipation of cases Assists with room turnover, breaking down room and cleaning endoscopy equipment in accordance with infection control guidelines and manufacturer instructions for use. Oversees the care, handling and maintenance of endoscopy equipment. Troubleshoots basic technical problems with equipment and initiates repairs as needed. Maintains knowledge of current manufacturer's guidelines. Responsible in transporting patients to and from the floor, and assisting RN in discharging patients to home.
Qualifications:
BLS required. 1 year of Endoscopy or sterile processing experience preferred. Weeknight/Weekend Call per unit requirements.
