Our practices are located in Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Garner, Wake Forest, and Pittsboro. POSITION SUMMARY
The General Manager is directly responsible for the successful training of newly hired front desk staff at the office level. Accountabilities include day to day front desk management as well as change management, motivating staff, maintaining a positive and encouraging environment, and relaying the values of Tar Heel Periodontics & Implant Dentistry. The front desk team lead is also responsible for achieving goals by providing direction, organization, coordination, communication and employee development, and ensuring the patient and associate experience meets and exceeds the Company’s values.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes company brand to associates, patients, and community and effectively answers inquiries from patients regarding all things Tar Heel Periodontics.
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of patient satisfaction, with the ability to demonstrate and model for new associates.
- Creates an environment that inspires the team to take personal ownership for achieving stretch goals and performance improvement.
- Drives revenue and key metric performance and model the proper behaviors daily.
- Controls expenses to maximize office contributions and develops others to do the same.
- Train and develop associates on Tar Heel Periodontic systems, processes and culture, and teach them to use our tools to maximize efficiency while maintaining quality patient care.
- Provides feedback to associates regarding performance, provides direction when correction or improvement is required; coach, counsel and trains associates accordingly – and provides praise and recognition when successful behaviors and results occur.
- Ensures execution of daily office functions, including checklists and reporting.
- Communicates in a clear, accurate, and motivational manner and gains buy-in from team.
- Meets with team individually as well as in a group setting to ensure open communication and proper protocols are being followed.
- Monitors and coaches office team for effective patient flow throughout the office, ensuring minimum wait time to our patients.
- Hold team members accountable for individual performance and coach/train when there is opportunity.
- Manage and control the daily, weekly, and monthly schedule and duties to meet practice production and collection targets.
- Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping practices.
- Ability to be cross-trained in different roles to support practice needs. Assists others in solving problems by sharing information, ideas, and suggestions.
- Creates innovative solutions in the face of operational hurdles.
- Openly communicates ideas, issues, and concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
- Ensure practice is properly staffed to maintain a positive patient experience.
- Generates a positive atmosphere by being a role model and encouraging teamwork.
- Development of and partnership with leadership team to provide cohesive messaging to associates, and to provide career growth and mentorship.
- Demonstrate effective change management leadership and emotional intelligence to effectively lead team.
- Build strong relationships with all office staff as well as leadership and professional services.
- Other duties, as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Embraces change and can be flexible and adaptable.
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and Slack.
- Team Player that works well in the face of adversity.
- Previous management experience in office setting.
- Minimum 2-4 years of related experience in a healthcare environment.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in healthcare.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage all aspects of office operations, as well as driving performance results to meet or exceed company goals.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver positive patient and associate experience.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the proven ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and ensure that patient commitments and deadlines are met.
- Proficiency in utilization of automated equipment and systems standard to the dental industry.
- Experience with managed care processes for a healthcare practice.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize effective time management and strong organizational skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is performed in a traditional periodontics office environment, with ability to travel within a 20-mile radius.
- This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize industry standard equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.
- Ability to lift boxes up to 25 lbs periodically.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
