The position: Affordable Regulations Specialist will ensure the RPM affordable portfolio is compliant and up to date with all affordable program regulations. Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local programs including, but not limited to, LIHTC, Project Based Section 8, RAD, PFC, HOME, HUD, and all other affordable managed programs as required by affordable program regulations and RPM policies under the supervision of the VP of Compliance. The incumbent also performs clerical and administrative tasks related to RPM housing programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze potential risks to avoid compliance issues.
  • Bring non-compliance issues to the attention of supervisor and other necessary parties.
  • Create a plan of action for non-compliance issues.
  • Initiate and monitor corrective action needed to bring properties back in compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State programs; including but not limited to LIHTC, Project Based Section 8, HUD, RAD, HOME, Regulatory Agreements, and Fair Housing.
  • Enforce and adhere to company policies and rules and regulations.
  • Attend onboarding calls to ensure team members are aware of the affordable processes.
  • Monitor and store all site regulatory agreements and program compliance documents to prevent non-compliance at properties.
  • Assist with audit preparation.
  • Attend all recommended/mandated training or certification courses to stay current with compliance regulations and fair housing laws.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of Affordable Compliance processes, procedures, and documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Ideal candidate will have at least 2-5 years of experience with HUD Section 8, LIHTC, and/or other affordable housing programs.
  • Must have COS, TCS or BOS designation.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing regulations
  • Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team setting.
  • Ability to travel 25% or more depending on needs.
  • Onesite and Yardi experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously, organize records/files, prioritize activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • HUD EIV, TRACS, and CMTS experience preferred.
