    4. 40% of 6th through 8th grade students meet their millionaire goal (two million words read)

About the Role

This role will consist of about 70% interventionists and about 30% Gifted and Talented Coordinators (these percentages may change based on the student population's needs). Interventionists should be prepared to work with students in grades K-5 who require additional support to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs and achieve grade-level proficiency. They will primarily focus on literacy intervention.

In this role, you will:

  • Teach daily literacy interventions in individual and small group settings, providing instruction based on scholar needs using the Wilson Reading system
  • Progress monitor student data, document progress, and enter data into a centralized data management system
  • Analyze scholar data and use it to set individual goals, create intervention groups and instructional plans, and adjust instruction
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teachers, service providers, school leaders, students, and families to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of each learner
  • Lead Student Care Plan meetings for students requiring additional support
  • There may be a requirement to work with students before or after regular school hours in this role. Total work hours will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Oversee the entire Gifted & Talented program for Rocky Mountain Prep Fletcher including but not limited to:
    • screening and identifying new students for GT, including analyzing proportionality with our overall student demographics
    • maintaining current ALPs in Infinite Campus and writing ALPs for newly identified students
    • pulling students to work with them individually or in groups on their ALP goals
    • leading parent meetings and joining conferences to discuss progress towards ALP goal
    • leading PD for teachers on identifying and serving gifted students
    • providing support for teachers in implementing ALPs in the classroom
    • partnering with the district GT liaison
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Three years of full-time K-5 lead teaching experience that involves literacy instruction (ex. homeroom teacher, literacy teacher, interventionist, or special education teacher)
  • During the application process, you will need to provide student data demonstrating that you have led students to 1.5 years of reading growth in a single school year and/or high levels of mastery on state tests or standards based assessments
  • Be able to provide an official transcript demonstrating graduation from an undergraduate institution
  • Provide evidence of passing the Praxis 5001 exam or CO teaching license
  • Willingness to take district PDUs or other coursework on serving Gifted students
  • Pass a background check & demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing a literacy intervention program with fidelity (e.g. Wilson Reading system)
  • Specialized training in research-based literacy intervention (e.g. Orton-Gillingham)
  • Experience with tiered instruction as a dedicated literacy interventionist in an elementary school
  • Reading specialist endorsement, Special Education endorsement and/or CLDE endorsement on an active CO teaching license
  • Completion of CDE READ Act training and/or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) 45 contact hours
  • Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse students and families
  • Experience working with students on Advanced Learning Plans
  • Coursework or PRAXIS certifications on working with students identified as Gifted
  • Bilingual English & Spanish

Salary

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $63,600 to $72,000, depending on experience and education.
