Supports pharmacy services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications.

1. General Duties
   1. Provides quality customer service to patients and other healthcare providers, by greeting them in person and by phone; answering questions and requests; referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
   2. Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
   3. Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
   4. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
   5. Accurately and efficiently prepares medication orders for pharmacist to verify and dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; gathering and assembling necessary medications; repackaging medications in unit-of-use; compounding intravenous admixtures; documenting on dispensing logs.
   6. Generates revenue by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
   7. Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and departments; maintaining floor stock and crash cart inventory; refilling and maintaining automated dispensing cabinets.
   8. Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
   9. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
   10. All duties noted above are also performed for the Hip and Knee Replacement Program (HKRP), Shoulder Surgery Program, and Spine Surgery Program. Completes at least 1 hour of education related to orthopedic patient care upon orientation and annually.
   11. Performs other duties as assigned.
