River City Medical Group is Hiring a PULMONOLOGIST Near Sacramento, CA

River City Medical Group, Inc., a Vivant Health Company, is seeking a Pulmonologist (Internist) for its Pulmonary Clinic: University Chest Medicine. River City Medical Group, Inc. (RCMG) has deep roots in service to the Sacramento Medi-Cal and Medicare population and University Chest Medicine provides direct outpatient care to generations of families in our network. University Chest Medicine also has a strong partnership with California Northstate University, providing our population the opportunity to receive treatment from leading Clinical Faculty physicians utilizing the most advanced medical research, techniques, and technology through the University River City Faculty Practice Plan.
University Chest Medicine is nestled in the beautiful Greenhaven Pocket community of Sacramento and ideally situated near California's finest get-aways, including Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley, the Bay Area and the Pacific Coast Highway.
We are seeking a motivated physician dedicated to developing University Chest Medicine into a first in class pulmonary clinic, providing leadership and outstanding service to our population. Our clinic is open Monday through Friday during regular business hours. The job does not require any on-call services.
Job Summary
The Pulmonologist will be responsible for treating up to 20 patients a day in a busy Outpatient Clinic - University Chest Medicine.
Essential Job Functions

  • Treat patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Management of complex pulmonary conditions, including but not limited to pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, advance COPD and reactive airway disease.
  • Order labs and imaging for patients.
  • Order prescription medication for patients.
  • Update patient information in the EMR.
  • Interpret PFTs, ABG, and 6MWTs.
  • Interpret CT scans.
  • Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Travel as required.
Other Functions
  • Enforces Company policies and safety procedures.
  • Regularly updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Competencies
  • 2- 3 years of experience as a Pulmonologist.
  • Sleep medicine experience is preferred.
  • 2-3 year' experience using an EMR and Centricity/IMS is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written.
  • Excellent active listening and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to solve mid-difficult level problems with minimal supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, confidence, and sincerity while quickly and positively engaging patients
  • Ability to multi-task, exercise excellent time management, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive job and/or industry related feedback.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately share information on a need to know basis.
  • Ability to exercise sound discretion and strict maintenance of confidentiality of all confidential and sensitive communications and information.

Supervisor Responsibility
This position supervises up to 5 employees in exempt positions, and will require supervision of at least one to two mid-levels, either PA or NP.
Education and Licensure
  • Medical Degree from an accredited institution
  • Current and Valid California Physician Medical License
  • Board Certification is preferred
Travel
  • The incumbent may travel up to 5% of the time.
Work Environment
This job operates in an Outpatient Clinic setting Monday through Friday. A typical daily case load would be up to 20 patients per day. T his position does not require call, weekends nor hospital requirements and vacation coverage is available .
