The Molecular Analytics Lab is part of the pre-clinical research and development unit of GSK’s Vaccine Center at Rockville, MD. The Molecular Analytics Lab is a research team that operates collaboratively with all the teams across the Vaccine Center and is involved in research activities related to the development of new and improved vaccine candidates. Research activities at the division are geared towards developing assays to detect, quantify and characterize nucleic acids and/or proteins at all stages of vaccines development using standard and emergent molecular methodologies along with next generation sequencing.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic intern/co-op student to join our Molecular Analytics Lab for 6 months. The intern will have an opportunity to drive a project with the support of scientists in the laboratory to develop assays to support vaccine candidate screening and selection. This training will provide the intern with an opportunity to obtain hands-on experience with cellular and molecular biology tools such as RNA isolation, reverse transcription, qPCR, single cell genomics, next generation sequencing, and bioinformatics.
