Now a public company, Rigetti is looking to expand our IT team through the addition of a Director of Information Technology.
Here at Rigetti, the Information Technology team is responsible for building, deploying, maintaining, securing and supporting key tools, processes, and technology that enable the entire Rigetti team to do its best work. As our Director of IT, you provide the vision and leadership required to meet those responsibilities. You will own the vital systems that power all aspects of our business and you’ll work cross-functionally with the entire team at Rigetti as we deliver the most advanced quantum computing platform in the world.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Overseeing, building and leading the Information Technology team.
  • Develop and maintain the strategy for the IT organization’s operations, including: internal stakeholder engagement, support teams responsibilities.
  • Leading the deployment and management and ensuring the overall state of health for all IT systems.
  • Working closely with Rigietti’s CSO and their team, implementing critical security policy and supporting audits, investigations, and incident management.
  • Engaging directly with Rigetti executives regarding their organizational IT needs.
  • Developing, maintaining and supporting key processes such as company data management, employee on-boarding and off-boarding.
  • Providing vision, with an eye to scaling ahead of growth, for technology selection, adoption, growth, and migration for all key systems working closely with the relevant stakeholders in the broader Rigetti business. 
  • Continuously improving systems and processes for end user support.
  • Negotiating and managing vendor relationships.
  • Supporting implementation of internal technology systems across the Rigetti enterprise. 
  • Ability and propensity to leverage a hands on engagement model as needed to support the Rigetti mission. 
  • Owning responsibility for developing and maintaining the strategy for implementing the key information systems such as: 
  • Employee identity management
  • Communications and office (remote and on-prem) systems
  • Systems inventory and management
  • Project Management
  • HR
  • Finance,
  • Legal systems

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 10 years of experience in IT roles.
  • 5 years of IT leadership experience in a small or medium-sized hardware company. 
  • 2 years experience in a public company setting.
  • Outstanding leadership qualities and skills, with specific experience inspiring IT teams to achieve stretch goals.
  • Exemplary technical capabilities and experience
  • An ownership mindset, with an eye for doing what’s required to support Rigetti’s mission and success.
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to translate complex technical and analytical issues into clear, concise, jargon-free communications to educate and inspire technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational and program management skills.
  • Demonstrable cross-functional relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with key IT systems such as directory management, office systems (e.g. Google Workspace, Microsoft Office), financial systems (e.g. Netsuite).
  • Demonstrable experience with implementing IT systems in public cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Ability to flex as a player-coach in a small and nimble team with complex and dynamic stakeholder requirement.
