Position Overview:

As a Logistics & Inventory Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of logistics and inventory operations to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products and optimal management of stock levels. You will play a crucial role in coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, optimizing transportation routes, and overseeing warehouse operations.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to optimize inventory turnover and minimize losses due to shrinkage or obsolescence.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and production departments to forecast inventory needs and ensure timely replenishment.

Logistics Coordination:

  • Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to optimize transportation efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth transportation of goods.
  • Track shipments and communicate delivery schedules to internal clients.
  • Resolve any transportation-related issues or delays to minimize disruptions in supply chain operations.

Warehouse Management:

  • Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Implement best practices for warehouse organization, layout, and space utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures in the warehouse.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze logistics and inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, fill rate, on-time delivery, and transportation costs.
  • Use data insights to develop strategies for optimizing logistics and inventory management processes.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in logistics and inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles, warehouse management systems, and transportation logistics.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Certification in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) is a plus.
