Redwood Credit Union is looking for a Curriculum Developer who will be responsible for designing, developing and continue to improve Redwood Credit Union's internal training and development curriculum. This position understands organizational strategy, the instructional content development cycle and is able to communicate project status, issues and resolution. The Curriculum Developer will design, develop, integrate, test and deliver online and classroom training. This position will partner cross-functionally with business leaders, compliance and subject matter experts to assess needs and design/develop learning solutions. This position will also deliver identified RCU programs when needed.
Essential Functions
Internal Training Program Design & Development
•Scope, design and develop engaging instructor led and online learning using adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, theories, and methods.
•Partner closely with Subject Matter Expert's and stakeholders to effectively assess and evaluate learning needs as inputs into course design.
•Leverage learning data insights and user feedback to recommend and make improvements.
•Work closely with business managers and other stakeholders in the development of clear project deliverables and timelines that ensure timely completion.
•Oversee, manage and delegate multiple priorities within the team as project manager.
•Deliver Train the trainer on new and updated content.
•Maintain content of training programs to reflect changes in policy, new programs, strategic goals, etc.
•Gain efficiencies through the development of user-driven templates and process documentation.
•Determine appropriate learning modality, design and other technical solutions to make relevant recommendations.
•Build and develop relationships with all stakeholders, proactively communicating timelines, updates and program information on a regular basis.
•Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, gamification etc).
•Effectively scope and manage projects from inception to completion.
•Analyze business priorities to manage the roadmap of upcoming projects.
•Develop and facilitate innovative, effective and timely curriculum and training programs utilizing a variety of creative resources such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, e-learning modules, and reference materials.
•Analyze incoming data and behaviors to identify and recommend new training opportunities.
•Develop measurements to evaluate and measure training results and impact.
Course Facilitation
•Delivers training programs, workshops and classes. Manages the classroom through effective facilitation processes that enable efficient delivery of curriculum and a training environment conducive to learning.
Minimum Qualifications- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledgeable of instructional design methods and practices
    • Proficient in course authoring tools (both instructor-led and on-line learning) such as Captivate, Storyline, and Camtasia, Articulate, etc.
    • Strong program management proficiencies with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrate advanced project management skills.
    • Knowledge of financial institution products, services, and operations is desirable.
    • Skill in delivering training and presenting to a wide range of audiences.
    • Skill in PC operations including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software and Internet/Intranet applications.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with a diverse group of people, including business partners external to RCU.
    • Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
Licenses and Certifications
    • Professional certification in instructional design preferred.
Physical Requirements
    • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
    • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree plus 5 years progressively responsible experience in training, education or related field including training coordination and delivery.
Compensation: Base starting range: $42.00 to $56.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
