Description
Job Summary: Develop and deliver alcohol, tobacco and other drug education to youth and/or adults at risk for substance use or abuse. Provide referrals to other services.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
•Contractors
•Interns
Essential Functions:
•Deliver prevention education programs to adults and/or youth who are referred to the Agency or walk in across a broad continuum
•Develop program content, enhance program environment, and prepare all program materials.
•Respond to external inquiries regarding prevention education programming
•Refer program participants to other community services, as needed
•Partner with prevention staff to plan, promote, and implement Agency-sponsored prevention activities and events
•Prepare daily activity logs, quarterly reports, and other required documentation
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Has worked with medical health record
•Comfortable with online conferencing platforms
•Great communication skills - adaptable in communication with youth vs. adults
Education and Experience:
•Registered Applicant License (RA) for Prevention within six months of hire
•Understanding of Medical Health Records
•Valid driver's license
•Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Social work or another related field
Minimum Qualifications:
•Valid driver's license
•Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
•2-5 years experience in prevention services /training delivery
•Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist (OCPS)
•Certified Health Education Specialist CHES
•Master's Degree in Public Health, Social work or another related field
Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and standing, bending and moving.
•Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
•Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment:
Business hours generally Monday through Friday, however some evening & weekend hours may be necessary to meet all client services / programs. Position may also be required to respond to emergencies (on-call) depending on program / level of care.
***Covid-19 and Flu vaccination is required***

Travel: Periodic travel within community and between locations
