Rebo Lighting & Electronics LLC is Hiring a Production Operator (2nd Shift) Near Sparta, TN

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position involves working in a manufacturing environment. It requires assembly, inspection and other support duties in conjunction with production of automotive lighting products. Duties and equipment operation within this assignment may vary dependent upon individual jobs and departmental requirements, procedures, and work instructions. Generally this type of position involves varying physical requirements involving reaching, bending, stooping, standing and lifting up to 30lbs. It may involve re-inspection and rework. The 2nd shift work schedule is 3:00pm-11:15pm (8hr shift). Payrate is $15.97 per hour.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Minimum of 1 year production assembly experience preferred.
  • Ability to assemble automotive lighting fixtures in 1-3 people work stations.
  • Good attendance required.
  • Must promote safety in their work area(s).
  • Use IATF 16949 and ISO14001 disciplines; ensures product conforms to established production specifications.
  • Communicates opportunities observed to improve safety, quality, or production processes which can reduce injuries, scrap or production losses.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in all work areas.
  • Work safely, adhering to the facility s quality, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures and continually monitoring the work environment to identify and communicate to team leader/supervisor/ manager current or potential concerns.
  • All other assignments deemed necessary while under the direction of the Team Leader, Area Operations Supervisor, Process Manager, or the Plant Manager.

TRAINING, EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Position requires an individual to be able to function within the general production and processing environment. The person should have experience and training with operating a variety of production equipment. This job requires overtime as needed and the individual must be willing to work overtime with short notice.

Educational requirements are to have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent. Individuals already employed by January 2000 are grandfathered on this requirement. Individuals must have:

  • Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, correspondence and memorandums.
  • Ability to write simple clear correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to team members, customers, and other employees of the company.
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units using whole number, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret SPC graphs and bar charts.
  • Basic knowledge of computers preferred.

Tools/Equipment: Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment to loosen connector s, bolts, parts, etc. and make adjustments.

Other: Other abnormal physical requirements should be reviewed by an employee and their supervisor prior to performing work.

This is a review of various elements of this job to consider potential hazards that may be encountered and safety precautions that are to be taken to avoid injuries and accidents.

Work with or around moving machines and equipment.

Caught in moving machine parts, loose clothing.

Follow all required Lock/Out/Tag Out procedures. Keep hands and arms away from moving machine parts, do not wear loose fitting clothing around moving machinery. Be sure all guards are maintained and in place when operating equipment.

Work with fires and hot tooling

Burns from tooling and burners

Avoid contact with burners and tooling when hot, allow to cool down before working with hot tooling.

Work with glass

Burns from hot glass. Cuts from broken glass. Glass splinters and chips on work surfaces. Glass on floor causing slips or falls.

Use extreme care when working with glass to avoid burns and cuts. Keep work surfaces clean and free of glass debris. Sweep up broken glass and excess glass and material on floor to minimize slips or falls.

Move around work area, move material, obtain tools and parts.

Objects and material in floor. Hoses in floor, Improperly positioned floor mats. Scrap glass, stems, bulbs, plastic parts, etc. which could cause slips and falls. Boxes and other material placed improperly in walk aisles.

Keep work areas, aisle ways and walk areas free of obstruction, scrap material and debris. Maintain good housekeeping practices. Remove improperly stored materials and report to supervisor.

Lift and carry materials, parts, tooling, tools, etc.

Lifting more than proper or safe for situation. Twisting or reaching with a load. Failing to obtain required assistance.

Always use proper and safe lifting techniques. Avoid twisting and reaching with a load. Obtain assistance for lifting heavy or bulky items which can not be handled easily. Obtain assistance lifting or moving anything weighing over 40 lbs.

Cleaning work area

Objects or debris from compressed air usage. Scrap material, glass, stems, wires, plastic parts, etc. in floor.

Minimize use of compressed air to clean equipment. Avoid using compressed air blowing towards anyone or when others are in immediate work area. Use broom to sweep floor and remove glass scrap and other debris. Observe for items that could cause slip, trips, or falls.

Other General Duties

Always follow posted safety notices and established work instructions. Report unsafe conditions or practices to your supervisor or Human Resources immediately. Insure that equipment, materials, containers and tools, are properly secured, stored, labeled, used and are disposed of properly. If you have a question about what you are doing, stop and ask your supervisor or another trained employee before proceeding.
