A week in the life of a Senior IT Systems Administrator:

  • Contribute to team projects using leading edge technologies to provide customer IT services that are highly available, highly automated, and highly secure
  • Be a leader in planning and implementing projects for computer operations and enterprise systems administration
  • Take responsibility of mission critical enterprise IT infrastructure, both hardware and software
  • Coordinate scheduled downtimes to maximize benefits and minimize customer impact
  • Consistently deploy software packages and system updates via SCCM
  • Manage day-to-day operations of host systems and maintain records of system downtime and equipment inventory
  • Maintain accurate records through use of online ticketing and inventory system
  • Recommend innovative ways in systems administration to implement new technology
Job Requirements
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Possess a current DoD 8570 IAT level II or higher (i.e., Security ce, CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, or CISSP, CASP, etc.)
  • At least 7 years’ experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and Server 2016/2019 operating systems (and previous releases)
  • At least 5 years’ experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems 
  • Advanced knowledge and experience:
    •  Working with Windows Client (Windows 10/11), Server (2016/2019), Active Directory, and Windows Group Policy
    • Scheduling and managing backups of systems data utilizing programs
    • Managing Windows Server technologies like SQL, System Center, SharePoint, Exchange 2016, and WSUS, etc.
    • Active Directory forests/domains, replication, group policies, certificates, trusts, and sites 
  • Experience with iSCSI and SAN storage technologies, core server & desktop builds, and security hardening 
  • Skilled in automating deployment and OS hardening 
  • Capable of applying Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGS)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft clustering
  • Adept at PowerShell scripting
  • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Ability to provide full-time, on-site support

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides for the welfare of its employees and their dependents through a comprehensive benefits program by offering healthcare benefits, paid leave, retirement plans, insurance programs, and education and training assistance.
