Job Description Job Description Job Title: Resident EngineerMinimum Requirements:Must have Bachelor's degree in Engineering.Professional registration as an engineer is required.Five to ten years (or more) experience as a resident engineer is required.Experience working on active railroads.Must be willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.Must have experience supervising a construction management team including office engineers, inspectors, and administrative help.Must have experience managing contractors, writing change orders, answering requests for information, reviewing submittals, reviewing and approving progress payment requests, reviewing and tracking schedules, setting up document and cost control systems and forecasting cost to complete.Must have good verbal and written communication skills to communicate with the public and client representatives.Must have a valid driver's license.Job Description:This assignment will be working on an active transit system. It involves the replacement of fire alarm system of a series of transit stations for BART in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Project Manager/Resident Engineer will supervise a construction management team including office engineers, inspectors, and administrative help, and report directly to the client. Responsibilities on a day-to-day basis will include, but are not limited to: Manage construction contractors, prepare change orders, answer requests for information, review submittals, review and approve progress payment requests, review and tracking schedules and costs, set up document and cost control systems and forecasting cost to complete. The Resident Engineer candidate should be familiar with BARTs Construction Documents, construction management practices and have experience in the interaction with BARTs operating system.Specialties and experience desired in: roadways, highways, earthwork, blasting, bridges, retaining walls, various structures (concrete & steel), water / wastewater, public project landscaping, SWPPP, dry and wet utilities, electrical, signal coordination, railroads, traction power, railroad signaling, track work, dredging.Please note: The project is 'system-wide', which means it is everywhere there is a BART facility in the Bay Area; including stations, maintenance yards, office buildings.Company Description Cornerstone Concilium, Inc. is a privately held professional firm formed in 1986 to provide architecture, engineering, and management consulting services within the facilities, transportation, and technology industries.
