St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce is Hiring a Marketing and Tourism Development Manager Near St Augustine, FL

The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce is seeking a full-time Marketing and Tourism Development Manager to support the chamber’s tourism promotion and overall marketing and communications plan.

Job summary: The Marketing and Tourism Development Manager will support the execution of the chamber’s contract with the Tourist Development Council by managing and promoting the Visitor Information Center in Ponte Vedra Beach; by curating tourism content for ExperiencePonteVedra.com, PonteVedraNaturally.com and PVWellness.net; and by supporting the autism certification grant program for tourism and hospitality businesses. The manager will also support overall marketing and communication efforts by developing content for member newsletters, the chamber website and chamber social media channels.

Job Duties

Visitor Information Center (VIC) management

· Welcome and assist visitors and callers to the VIC by providing information about local attractions, accommodations, dining, events and activities.

· Provide exceptional customer service in person and by phone and email to ensure positive interactions with all visitors.

· Manage the appearance of the VIC by maintaining and organizing promotional material, ensuring all material is current, and recommending improvements.

· Collaborate with Director of Marketing and Communications to develop a promotional plan for the VIC.

· Collect and maintain visitor data for reporting purposes.

Development of tourism experiences

· Manage the chamber’s tourism websites, including ExperiencePonteVedra.com, PonteVedraNaturally.com and PVWellness.net, as well as tourism content on sjcchamber.com.

· Generate and distribute content for tourism websites and other channels, including social media, print material and press releases.

· Create visually compelling and informative videos showcasing tourism experiences in St. Johns County.

· Collaborate with tourism partners (Visit Florida and St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors & Convention Bureau) to pitch Ponte Vedra experiences for press events, tours, interviews and promotional opportunities.

· Collect and maintain tourism website visitor data. Analyze data to identify trends and improve services. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for chamber leadership and the TDC.

Marketing and communications

· Create content for social media, including graphics and video, and identify creative ways to engage social media followers.

· Produce content for monthly member newsletters.

· Assist in the marketing and coordination of events to raise awareness and boost attendance.

· Manage internal photo and video asset library.

· Ensure cross-department adherence to chamber brand standards and communications calendar.

Skills and Qualifications

· In-depth knowledge of St. Johns County and surrounding areas, including attractions, events and services, or willingness to learn.

· Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate with a diverse audience in a friendly, informative manner.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively.

· Ability to creatively problem-solve and research to address visitor inquiries and concerns.

· Ability to collect and analyze data across multiple platforms to improve services and make informed decisions.

· Collaborative spirit and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders in tourism boards, businesses, local communities and chamber staff.

· High level proficiency in:

o Microsoft Office products

o Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop

o Social media management

o WordPress-based CMS

· Amateur proficiency in:

o Videography and editing software (iMovie or similar)

o Photography

Experience and Education

· A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.

· Previous marketing and communication and/or tourism industry experience is a plus.
