Job Description:

HTC Commercial Flooring is looking for a Lead Commercial Flooring Estimator. A Lead Estimator is responsible for the accurate interpretation of project drawings and material needs for commercial floor covering projects. In charge of managing a team of estimators, and works in conjunction with the Operation Officer, Estimation team, Project Manager, and Installation team.

Qualifications:

- An advanced understanding of the construction industry and interpretation of specification is critical to the success of a commercial flooring estimator.

- College Degree recommended

- 2 years of experience

Responsibilities:

- A commercial flooring estimator is responsible for the accurate interpretation of project drawings and materials needs for commercial flooring covering projects.

- The commercial flooring estimator works in conjunction with the operation office, project managers, and installation team.

- As a commercial flooring estimator, you will need to pay high attention to detail and work well under strict deadlines to achieve accurate and organized drawings and totals for multiple floor covering projects.

- They will understand various flooring products such as carpet, vinyl, ceramic, and LVT as well as their applications.

- Obtain plans electronically from customers, contractors, and plan providers.

- Read specifications to understand the scope of work.

- Perform take-off using measure square and determine quantities of materials required.

- Identify omissions and inaccuracies in plans.

- Research materials requirements include all finish goods, trims, accessories, installation methods, etc.

- Provide seam diagrams and color-coded drawings and gather and interpret other related information necessary to ensure the entire scope of work is accounted for and properly executed.

- Maintain estimating computer files, including bid documents and plans.

- Input quantities into measure square to accurately portray the cost of the project.

- Manage multiple projects/estimates and present a high level of organization to meet strict deadlines.

- Complete shop drawings are directed by direction of the specifications and operations office.

- Initiate RFI's by the RFI deadline.

- Accomplish department and organizational mission by working as a project partner both internally and with our customers.

- Other duties and responsibilities are required or requested.
