Summary of Responsibilites

We are seeking a Workshop Maintenance Technician to join our team in Palo, Alto, California. As a Workshop Maintenance Technician , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop environment by providing technical assistance, maintaining equipment, and supporting various projects.

This is a 6-month project, looking to start someone from May - November 2024 for 6 month contract on a 1099 contractor.

Pay Rate: $25.00/hour

Essential Job Function:
  • Collaborating with test and development staff and stakeholders to organize innovative workshops, implement efficient equipment maintenance strategies, and optimize workflows.
  • Conducting and performing regular maintenance and repair work on mechanical, minor electrical, and other installed equipment and appliances within workspaces.
  • Setting up, replacing, or relocating workspaces, equipment, vehicles, and parts as needed.
  • Maintaining clear and professional communication with workshop staff and demonstrating professionalism at all times.
  • Assisting with procurement activities, ensuring timely delivery of parts, consumables, and deliverables, and optimizing supply chain processes.
  • Updating and managing accurate records and official documentation for the site.
  • Providing support to team projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • A clean driving record and valid license.
  • Preferably 2 years of experience in facility and/or office maintenance or organizational roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective inventory management, including inventory tracking, optimization, and cost control, is a plus.
  • Positive attitude, honesty, and customer-oriented mindset.
  • Prior experience with automotive systems and parts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in performing maintenance tasks and equipment inspections.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Proficiency with power tools and building equipment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and various information technology tools.
  • Service-oriented personality with self-motivation, confidence, energy, and flexibility.
  • Willingness to adapt and change practices to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and generate documents and reports.
  • Effective verbal communication skills, including the ability to address groups of customers or employees.
  • Capacity to solve practical problems and navigate situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled form.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure workshop environment, delivering quality results under tight deadlines.

Physical Demands:

  • This role requires frequent standing, sitting, hand usage, reaching, and speaking.
  • Occasional walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling may be necessary.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Close vision and ability to adjust focus are necessary for the job.
  • Travel, driving, telephone, and email communication may be part of your duties.
  • The work environment may expose you to various elements such as fumes, noise, and vibrations, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment.
  • At times, you'll work in a standard office environment.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration may occur.
  • The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment.
