Platform Observability Engineer

Job description

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles, emphasizing observability.
• Proficiency in scripting or any object-oriented language such as Java, Perl, Python, PowerShell, etc.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud service platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Familiarity with cloud-native monitoring solutions such as AWS CloudWatch.
• Experience with Elastic Observability or similar tools for log analysis, metrics visualization, and distributed tracing.
• Knowledge of SNMP Management Information Base (MIB) files and OID structure.
• Experience integrating SNMP/API monitoring data with centralized systems or IT service management tools.
• Proficient understanding of the entire technology stack of the service, from application to infrastructure.
• Familiarity with storage, database, and network monitoring methodologies and tools.
• Understanding of observability standards and frameworks like OpenTelemetry for infrastructure monitoring.
• Exposure to AI Ops, Service Maps for comprehensive visualization and analysis of service dependencies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Awareness of enterprise architecture, design, and implementation principles.
• Exposure to big data tools such as Metricbeat for comprehensive observability coverage.
