Regal Rexnord is Hiring a Quality Engineer Senior Near West Chester, PA

SUMMARY

The Quality Engineer Senior will perform a dual role of performing tasks related to developing and maintaining the quality standards for Portescap products and processes and also providing supervision to a team of union inspectors. This position is located in our climate-controlled West Chester, PA facility. This leader will drive key metrics around Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost for the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for defining QA process metrics, populating the Quality workcell SQDC board, and leading or performing RC/CA for performance indicators that are not meeting targets.

  • Responsible for monitoring and improving inspection related processes including Receiving Inspection, QA Hold, First Article Inspection, Non-conforming Material disposition, and Material Review Board to ensure timely and efficient processing of material.

  • Lead structured problem-solving activities with engineers, union associates, and cross-functional teams.

  • Establish standard work, inspection plans and performance targets. Interface with shipping, receiving, production, R&D, NPD and purchasing to understand internal customer requirements and to develop robust processes.

  • Responsible for documenting and updating quality system standard operating procedures (SOPs), inspection plans, and forms as required. Conducts training / coaching sessions on quality system processes.

  • Compile quality data, establish regular communication of data, and develop action plans to drive continuous improvement.

  • Lead projects and achieve quantifiable results around improving quality (e.g. DPM, Scrap, RMA turnaround time, Yield, etc.)

  • Contribute to PPAP preparation for supplier and internal part qualifications, including Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, PFMEAs, Capability Studies, and Gage R&R studies.

  • Lead and manage direct labor union quality inspection team in a manufacturing environment to follow all policies, procedures, and content agreed to in the union contract. Lead safety engagement and enhancement practices.

  • Assign daily work and prioritize Receiving Inspection, First Article Inspection, and Final Inspection to meet company requirements. Evaluate cell demand and determine if overtime or staff re-deployment will be required to meet customer request dates.

  • Hold associates accountable to the work rules, policies, and performance standards and provide constructive feedback. Be the point of contact for the quality union team and effectively address issues that arise, including disciplinary actions.

  • Inspection process subject matter expert for use of measuring devices, including hand tools, Keyence, and CMM. Conduct employee training on inspection methods, procedures, and equipment, and manage cross-training activities.

  • Perform ISO Quality Management System and Ergonomic Audits as necessary.

  • Manage calibration program as required.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or related field

  • 5 years minimum of Quality or Process Engineering experience; automotive, aerospace, or medical manufacturing environment is preferred

  • Previous experience in a union environment formally or informally leading hourly production associates.

  • Experience in an ISO 9000 or AS9100 certified environment required

  • Experience with 8D structured problem solving is required

  • Experience with Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) is required

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

  • User experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access preferred.
