Quilling Selander seeks an associate attorney for its Consumer Financial Litigation Practice Group. Good academic credentials and strong references are required.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for, and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior attorneys.
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
  • Communicate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
  • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is readily available for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • This position includes expected billable hours of 1980 per year.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation.
  • Consumer credit litigation (Fair Credit Reporting Act) experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Candidates should be licensed in Texas and/or California, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, or Nevada.

  • Experience analyzing, reviewing, editing, and drafting litigation documents, as well as superior analytical skills.
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to work with clients who demand excellence and be able to meet their expectations.

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
