Salary: $28-30 Hourly DOE

Electrical and Service Technician

Salary Range: $28 to $30 per hour DOE

Location: Onsite

Position Type: Hourly, non-exempt

Keith Company engineers and manufactures state of the art industrial furnaces, kilns and ovens that are sold to domestic and international customers. We are currently seeking an Electrical and Service Technician to join our team.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the service technician is responsible for the implementation and testing of the electrical systems on all manufactured products onsite and at customer locations. This involves day-to-day operation with actual manufacturing processes of building furnace equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Electrical know how (understand high and low voltage schematics, drives systems, temperature controllers, P&ID loops, basic understanding of PLC programming, phone support and troubleshooting).
  • Experienced in the use of a variety of electrical control devices (Controllers, PLC, SCR, VFD)
  • Wires all electrical systems maintaining UL and CE compliance, background with ISO 9001 will be helpful.
  • Knowledge of 3-phase, single phase, VAC and VDC circuits.
  • Knowledge of 4-20mA and 0-10V loops.
  • Ability to read blueprint and/or electrical schematics.
  • Fabricate and install parts that conform to Engineering CAD drawings.
  • Analyzing needs and product requirements to improve designs.
  • Provide back of potential improvements to Engineering Dept.
  • Performs furnace fieldworks for setups, rebuilds, repairs, installs, and start-up.
  • Travel Fieldwork is required for this position (less than 15%). Travel infrequently via car and air (international travel requires a passport).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge MS Office (Excel, Word, and MS Team).

Education and Experience:

  • Min 3 years prior work experience related to electrical systems.
  • Experience with gas burner systems or HVAC background are helpful.
  • High school diploma, GED, or Trade Tech.
  • Specialized certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating heavy machinery.
  • Excellent eyesight and color vision.
  • Good dexterity.
  • Physical stamina.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, kneeling at the workstation and manufacturing.
  • Be able to lifting up to 45 pounds at times.
  • Able to physically perform the duties required by this job stand, sit, be mobile, stretch, lean, climb, kneel, crawl on knees, belly crawl, lay on back, work with back, shoulders, and arms, work with fingers and hands; up close and distance vision, ability to adjust depth perception, color vision; ability to operate machinery, weld, drive.
