Job Summary: The job of the Estimator is to work with customers and the sales team to review and provide quotes based on customer requirements. This role entails the responsibility of estimating for CNC, Sheet Metal, EDM, WaterJet, and Additive estimating DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Identify labor, material and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents
  • Compute costs by analyzing labor, material and time requirements
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data
  • Complete required GD&T training
  • Complete blueprint reading training
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to be a stickler for detail, while working quickly to address customer issues.
  • Experience utilizing a computerized sales system preferred (SalesForce /CRM is a plus).
  • Ability to clearly communicate customer expectations (requests) into a request for quote (RFQ).
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedules and have the ability to work weekends if needed, as we work with clients in multiple time zones
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Holds consistency with following up with customers
  • Ability to handle tough situations with a positive attitude
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • BA/BS preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints & understanding of measurement equipment
  • Previous work with computer programs such as CAD, Solidworks, etc.
  • Machine manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with Quote Software Platforms (computerized sales system such as Salesforce/CRM) is a plus
  • 1-3 years' experience in estimating (manufacturing preferred)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Office environment
  • There may be an occasional need to be out on the manufacturing floor at times, where required PPE must be worn
