Job Description:

Leads complex and strategic technology projects. Determines overall project strategy, coordinates, and communicates with project stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and drives project through execution to implementation. Leads and directs work of project team.

Project Manager Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Functions as project manager for technology projects, leveraging Agile, Waterfall or hybrid project management methodologies throughout the development cycle, including planning, design/development, testing and implementation phases.
  • Defines project objectives and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management, project team and project stakeholders.
  • Creates, executes and maintains all components of project plans.
  • Plans and schedules project deliverables, goals, and milestones.
  • Defines resources and schedule for project/program implementation.
  • When applicable, creates and/or maintains project budgets and gains appropriate approvals for invoices.
  • Engages with and provides PM oversight activities for 3rd party vendors when leveraged for projects.
  • Creates strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Identifies and directs project resources and manages conflicts within group.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Applies Lockton s project methodology and enforces project standards.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Routinely communicates relevant project information and status to project team, stakeholders and management.
  • Efficiently identifies and resolves project issues.
  • Provides strategic guidance and makes presentations to executive level management.
  • Provides project management oversight for smaller scale projects and for work related to products in Information Technology software portfolio.
  • May assist in the development of business requirements for multiple complex business functions, understands how those functions interact, and what the enterprise solution(s) could do to support those business needs.

Other Responsibilities

  • Makes decisions in compliance with established corporate and department standards.
  • Maintains awareness of new system procedures, processes, software capabilities and other technological advances with potential impact to Lockton.
  • Provides exceptional customer service and adheres to the Lockton philosophies.
  • Attends staff meetings, department meetings and educational workshops.
  • Organizes formal presentations to Lockton decision-makers.
  • Understands when circumstances require persuasion, conciliation, assertiveness, or other approaches and reacts appropriately.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree preferred or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 5 years project management work experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in articulating and documenting project management documentation.
  • Strong project management, time management, initiative and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent at collaboration and relationship building.
  • Experience in coordinating functional testing.
  • Experience within the insurance and brokerage industry is a plus.
  • Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
  • Possesses good understanding in the areas of 1. application programming, database and system design (Application Development PM) or 2. infrastructure, networking, service desk, operations (Infra/Ops PM).
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Some off-shift support and travel may be required.
