POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Software/IT Project Specialist

Direct Report: PACS-RIS-IT Administrator

FLSA Status: Exempt/Full-Time

Hours Worked: 40 /week

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Assists the Practice Administrator with RIS, PACS and IT administration at all Pueblo Medical Imaging facilities. Acts as a
liaison with insurance carriers, billing company, vendors and other facility affiliations involved in the billing process. Assists
with all billing functions/operations for the Company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. The following are the essential functions

Duties:
1. Performs RIS, PACS and IT administration as needed or requested by Company designee(s) and facilities.
2. Train staff on RIS, PACS and IT systems for updates, new processes or function improvements.
3. Manage all IT vendors within day-to-day operations regarding software and hardware installations and
updates.
4. Coordinate implementation of outside read accounts.
5. Maintain and coordinate all aspects of outside accounts and communicate necessary information to RAN
administration for invoicing.
6. Manage all outstanding projects and implementations/interfaces.
7. Implement new or advanced technology in healthcare IT.
8. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Company RIS, PACS and IT system.
  • Knowledge of the HITECH Act and its application in HIPAA compliance the healthcare industry.
  • Ability to perform essential duties efficiently.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, speak and follow English instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with oral and written communication.
  • Strong analytical skills and detailed organizational skills.

Explanation: This position is minimally supervised by the Director of Office Operations.

Explanation: This position has access to confidential information such as credit card information, social security numbers, dates of birth, and HIPAA information for all patients seen at the facilities.

Does this position have access to or handle company funds? No

Is it important to this position the incumbent be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English? Yes

What kind of work experience (including length of time), training, and/or level of education is necessary for this position? This position must be able to read, write and interpret billing reports and correspondence. The individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills needed for daily communication with patients, vendors, doctors, and direct report. This position must have advanced knowledge and understanding of the Company RIS and IT system(s) and will assist PMI with any administration or coordination concerning these systems.

List any technical skills (typing, computer skills, etc.): The skills required by this position include, but are not limited to, typing, computer literacy, faxing, scanning, copying, and advanced knowledge of RIS and IT systems. This position must have extensive RIS and IT experience to accommodate company needs at each facility.

What other special training and/or abilities are necessary to qualify for this position? The person in this position must possess skills, aptitudes, and abilities to perform each essential job duty proficiently.

Are there particular working conditions associated with this position that should be noted (i.e., working environment, hours of work, travel, work space, etc.)? Yes

Explanation: The person in this position must be able to travel to affiliated offices of the company or to maintain computers used by company personnel. The working environment will be in an average size workspace in the Corporate Office. The hours of work may vary, depending on Company needs, but are most often from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
