What You Will Do
The Project Finance Analyst plays a pivotal role in monitoring and reporting on the financial operations of projects, with a focus on forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting. This position requires adept analysis and interpretation of financial data to identify profit fade or gain and facilitate timely action.
A Typical Day at Prime Controls
  • Forecasting: Review project forecasts and collaborate with project managers to ensure realism and prompt communication of any changes. Analyze project budgets, forecasts, billings, and receivables for accuracy and alignment with objectives.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and manage costs to ensure projects remain within budget, analyze variances, and offer strategic recommendations to mitigate cost overruns.
  • Cash Flow Management: Track project expenses, forecast cash flows, and ensure adequate funds for timely project completion. Collaborate closely with project managers to achieve financial objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks associated with construction projects, collaborating with project managers to implement risk management strategies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to project managers, offering insights and recommendations on project performance.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and standards, minimizing the risk of legal or financial penalties through vigilant monitoring and compliance efforts.
  • Communication: Communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders, including owners, investors, and project teams including preparation of Monthly Work in Progress Reports for Management and Stakeholder Review, with Insights and Recommendations.
What You Will Bring
The Basic
  • 5 years of accounting, finance, or construction management experience
  • 3 years' experience in construction finance or cost management of projects
  • Proficiency in financial analysis.
  • Understanding of construction finance, including cost control, cash flow management, project financing and project management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Proficiency in financial software, such as Excel, ERP systems like Acumatica, Project Management and Job Cost software, and other systems critical to the execution of projects.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
Preferred
  • 7 years of accounting, finance, or construction management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or construction Management.
