Paul Hastings LLP is Hiring a National Security/CFIUS, Export Controls, and Sanctions Associate (2nd-6th Year) Near Washington, DC

Paul Hastings' National Security/Global Trade Controls group is seeking an associate with 2-6 years of experience to join our team in Washington, D.C.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of, and be capable of providing advice and representation to clients regarding: regulatory programs administered by CFIUS (Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States) and under parallel non-U.S. Foreign Direct Investment ("FDI) regimes; export controls; and sanctions. Additionally, experience with NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual) and FOCI (Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence) mitigation is desirable.
Our Global Trade Controls attorneys:
*Provide legal advice and guidance on matters related to CFIUS and FDI filings, including identifying and assessing jurisdiction, and advising on potential national security risks associated with proposed transactions.
*Counsel clients on applicability and compliance with, and file license applications and voluntary self-disclosures regarding, U.S. export control regulations (including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)) and U.S. sanctions programs (including those administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)).
*Assist clients in developing and implementing compliance programs related to export controls and sanctions.
*Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for clients in connection with mergers, acquisitions, financing and other transactions.
*Assist on and address and mitigate FOCI concerns and ensure compliance with NISPOM requirements.

Top credentials and excellent writing skills required, and candidates must be admitted (or eligible to be admitted) to the D.C. Bar. Please submit a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and writing sample.

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $235,000 and a maximum of $390,000 (annually). The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
