Whats unique about this job (What you’ll do)

The Senior Vice President of IT Shared Services at PriceSmart oversees the strategic management of technology resources, including staff, hardware, software, and vendor relations. This role is essential for guiding the development and support of technology solutions that enhance IT Service Delivery team efficiencies. By aligning IT initiatives with the company’s technology and financial goals, the Senior Vice President ensures the coherent evolution of IT and business processes across the organization. SVP IT Shared Services leads teams to deliver solutions within PriceSmart's architectural, cybersecurity, and budgetary frameworks, while also focusing on team development, risk management, and capability enhancement to navigate technological and business challenges driving and maintaining technological innovation PriceSmart

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnership: As a trusted advisor to the CIO and IT Service Delivery Executives, provide deep technology & architecture input into IT/business planning and align IT Shared Services initiatives with business technology plans/budgets. Create and communicate IT & business process architecture vision throughout IT and business units.
  • Technology Execution: Lead teams of technical and other resources to deliver agreed-on solutions in accordance with the PriceSmart technology and business architectures, cybersecurity framework, PMO processes, and time/cost budgets.
  • Team Building and Development: Cultivate and maintain a high-performing team that works well together and collaborates effectively with other technology and business unit teams to deliver against goals. Set and achieve skill improvement targets for team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Team Risk Mitigation & Succession Planning: Proactively identify risks to team performance and organizational knowledge, implementing strategies to mitigate these risks. Develop and maintain comprehensive succession plans, ensuring the continuous development of future leaders through training and mentoring.
  • Capability Improvements: Continuously evaluate process and technology improvements needed to support emerging technology and business opportunities and competitive threats. Plan for and execute ongoing upgrades to skills and tools to maintain team readiness to serve.

Bring your passion and expertise (Who you are)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years of experience managing software, hardware, networking, database, and cybersecurity architectures and solutions, including project management/execution, budgeting, vendor collaboration, and user interaction.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with internal or external customers to design and deliver innovative technology solutions on time and on budget.
  • Experience with a range of system development processes (including both agile and waterfall) and with both on-prem and cloud technology architectures.
  • Proven ability to develop team skills and competencies
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, balancing both managerial and technical responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively liaising with various stakeholders. 8. Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, capable of thinking strategically and acting tactically. development projects.
