Essential Functions:

• Responsible for all areas of the accounting function and the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements at month-end, quarter end and year end.
• NON FOR PROFIT 501C (4)
• HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE
• Designs and implements effective financial and business reporting on an ongoing basis for the purpose of better management of the business.
• Prepares annual operating plan and financial forecasts, which include income statements, balance sheets and cash flows for parent company and all subsidiaries.
• Directs the annual audit with the external audit firm and all other financial audits performed by RI DBR, Mass DOI, etc.
• Responsible for cash management including the timely investment of funds in appropriate financial instruments in accordance with the company investment policy.
• Responsible for management of business insurance in conjunction with the Company's outside legal counsel.
• Responsible for tax planning and the timely filing of all required tax returns.
• Provide Management with assistance in other areas as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 7-10 years experience of progressively increasing responsibility in the area of accounting or auditing is required Insurance industry experience is preferred
• CPA, MS in Accounting, MBA or equivalent required with demonstrated experience in technical accounting issues and practices from both a GAAP and SAAP point of view.
• Prior supervision or direction of subordinates is required.
• Proven demonstration of integrity, confidentiality and flexibility.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and effective communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of computerized financial accounting systems and internal systems control environments.
