Pre-Launch Co is Hiring a Product Designer Near Chicago, IL

High Alpha is hiring key team members for a new B2B SaaS startup. This position will be with High Alpha’s latest company, which is pre-public launch. You’ll work closely with the internal High Alpha team while reporting to the VP of Engineering. If you’ve ever been interested in working at a company from scratch as a member of the initial team, this is it!

This pre-launch product leverages breakthrough technology in the generative AI space along with information gleaned from skilled Consultants, to automate the creation of solutions collateral. This company will unlock skilled professionals to focus on the “neck up” parts of the role by automating the most administrative, but often most time-consuming, element of solutions collateral generation.

In this role, you will report directly into our VP of Engineering. You will be a part of a team that touches a variety of projects, including product design, UX/UI, and development. You have a strong sense of design and aesthetics and are able to share and sell your ideas. You recognize the impact of the smallest details on design and understand what it takes to develop great creative work and usability of our software. You thrive in collaborative environments, and have experience translating strategies into great product experiences.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and develop design solutions from ideation to execution
  • Manage the workflow of multiple design projects and deadlines
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders and apply critical design thinking to uncover project requirements and develop project briefs
  • Present creative work and review/implement design feedback and changes
  • Assist in the definition and scoping of new product MVPs
  • Work directly with the product & engineering team to develop new product features that deliver meaningful experiences
  • Talk to prospects and potential users to validate concepts and develop thoughtful solutions
  • Deliver high-fidelity assets for new products and services
  • Obsessively refine every interaction and visual design detail
  • Present and explain design ideas and concepts to our co-founders and CEOs with confidence
  • Create and define product design systems and components that will allow for the continued development of new features in an efficient and consistent manner

What You’ll Need:

  • 4-6 years of professional Product Design experience
  • A thoughtfully presented portfolio that demonstrates a refined aesthetic, the ability to think conceptually, and excellent visual and product design skills
  • Ability to take lead and own one’s own tasks and projects from start to finish
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in UX research methods
  • Genuine curiosity and a strong desire to continuously learn and grow
  • Proven experience creating high-fidelity designs in Sketch, Illustrator, etc.
  • The ability to create prototypes using Figma, HTML/CSS/JS or other tools
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and operate in a fast-paced work environment

Package:

Compensation:

  • $110,000-130,000 annual salary based on experience
  • Great benefits, including healthcare, dental, and vision coverage for employees
  • Equity grants
  • Monthly equipment stipend to cover laptop, monitor, and any software or equipment you may need

Our Values:

  • Hardest work, best work. A challenge is motivating, even when it’s a little scary. Working through hard challenges is what makes us grow.
  • Speed over perfection. We move fast and have a bias for action. We’re quick to spot issues, pivot without hesitation, and move quickly to drive forward. We tolerate the occasional mistake in exchange for speed.
  • Face challenge head on. We’re not afraid of hard conversations and we face challenges head on. We say the things that feel uncomfortable to say to address the issue and get to the other side of the problem. We do so with positive intent and an open mind.
  • Humble in abundance, optimistic in adversity. In good times, we remind ourselves (and each other) that we’re never done learning, growing, and improving. In hard times, we force ourselves (and each other) to keep the long-term vision in mind: failure is a timeline issue: with iteration and effort, you can always find a way to success.
  • Diverse perspective, unified success. We seek out diversity because diverse teams are the most successful teams. We have a high tolerance for working alongside others who come with different perspectives, backgrounds, and areas of expertise. We approach every interaction with team members as an opportunity to see something in a different light.

High Alpha is an equal-opportunity employer, and we value diversity at our company. We don’t discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
