The Security Officer is responsible for security duties in the protection of life and property through crime prevention and enforcement of laws and policy. Officer's duties range from periods of physical inactivity to situations requiring extreme physical exertion and exposure to danger. Officers must be able to act without immediate supervision and exercise independent judgment in meeting emergencies.

We are currently looking for a:

Adventureland Security Officer (Seasonal)

Roles & Responsibilities:

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Patrols an assigned area to maintain public peace, prevent and detect the commission of crimes, observe, report, and investigate violations of laws and policy, and protect life and property. Take intermediate measures to ensure the protection of the employees, guests, assets, and public reputation.

* Act as a first responder at the scene of accidents or crimes; secures scene, provides emergency CPR/AED and first aid.

* Conducts and participates in investigations; interview witnesses and victims to obtain statements; collects photographs and mark evidence; take measurements; prepare detailed reports; and conduct follow-up investigations.

* Answer phone calls, providing pleasant and helpful phone contact for, staff, the public.

* Assist in safety prevention efforts, including responding to all safety calls, fire alarms, and emergencies.

* Utilized electronic card access, closed circuit television, and other audio/visual monitoring systems, monitors and supervises the response to all reports or irregular conditions, including the unauthorized entry of persons or vehicles to protected buildings and areas, breaches of perimeter security or any other suspicious activities occurring on the property.

* Contact local law enforcement personnel when circumstances warrant.

* Complete required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements.

* Performs related duties as assigned.

* Safely operate motor vehicles including golf carts.

Education: A minimum of a high School diploma, GED, or equivalent

Languages: English

Skills:

* Knowledge of the principles and practices of modern security techniques.

* Knowledge of the constitutional rights of citizens.

* Knowledge of proper investigation principles, practices, and techniques.

* CPR/AED and First Aid (Training provided).

* Utilization of techniques to subdue violent or uncooperative people and to de-escalate and mediate volatile situations and to hear the conversational voice.

* Strong attention to detail and observation skills including the ability to keep detailed and accurate records and reports.

* Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with associates, co-workers, representatives of other organizations, and people from diverse cultures.

* Strong communication skills to come across clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing

* Good visual acuity, night vision, and peripheral vision.

* Good interviewing and listening skills.

* Ability to analyze people and/or situations quickly and calmly and determine/take effective and reasonable courses of action while under stress/pressure.

* Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.

* Ability to apply knowledge of security methods, procedures, and techniques to specific situations.

* Ability to operate equipment such as cameras, and personal computers.

* Ability to deal fairly, objectively, and courteously with the general public without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or political beliefs.

* Ability to maintain certifications as required by assignment.

* Ability to operate communication dispatch radio.

* Ability to walk, stand, and run-on uneven surfaces.

* Ability to work in inclement weather.

* Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
