Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred
  • 5 years experience as customer service in the transportation industry preferred
  • Professional, friendly phone presence
  • Possess a high level of proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work under stress
  • Highest quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Type 40 wpm with 100% accuracy
  • Knowledge of bulk commodities industry rates and terms a plus
  • Willingness to be cross-trained in other departments

Job Summary: 

The Customer Service Supervisor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of customers and staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include overseeing and assessing customer service staff activities, strategizing and monitoring daily activities of customer service operation, training, investigating and solving customer complaints, maintaining documentation pertaining to customer service, appraising work performance, and performing additional duties where as needed.

This position will build a strong relationship with customers while enforcing new and existing policy and procedures to accomplish desired results. Demonstrate clear and organized communication. Will play a collaborative role in growing and implementing new and existing standards and processes working alongside customers. Will maintain documentation such as correspondence and operational records. 

Tasks:

  • Communicate with customers via telephone, email and other like forms of communication.
  • Provide staff with assistance in performing difficult or complicated duties.
  • Plan and prepare work schedules, and assign employees to specific duties.
  • Coordinate structured meetings as needed.
  • Implement monthly inventory cycle counts as required.
