Overview

A Conversion Technician is a key member of the Planet DDS team and is responsible for executing data and image conversions for both trials and finals. In this role you will leverage our data conversion tools, methodology and processes to convert images and data from numerous external systems into our cloud-based solution. This position requires strong communication, organization, analytical skills, and some expertise in SQL database technology.

The Conversion Technician will be able to multitask – coordinating assigned projects while able to manage multiple incoming requests during peak times. They will also have an inherent ability to be flexible in their everyday tasks and well organized with an engaging and professional bearing when interacting with our customers.

A successful candidate is one that has a passion for detail and consistency, brings strong collaboration and communication skills, is someone who’s willing to try new approaches and learn from mistakes and misses, thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a “can do” attitude. This person will also be instrumental in helping to shape and drive our future data conversion process.

This position must sit close to one of our office locations (Irvine, CA | Phoenix, AZ | Akron, OH | Atlanta, GA) and requires evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform trial and final data and image conversion activities, including connecting to client environments, retrieving data, execute our conversion process, analyzing results, performing data validation, troubleshooting and issue resolution, and reporting results.
  • Meet directly with clients to retrieve data, execute conversions, or follow up with technical questions or troubleshooting.
  • Fully understand our existing data conversion processes and tools and assist in executing conversions using the existing processes and tools.
  • Monitor data throughput and loads, troubleshooting, and escalating when necessary.
  • Perform integrity checks on data and images and take necessary action to ensure complete and accurate conversion results.
  • Mentor and train other team members.
  • Assess and raise risks proactively.
  • Collaborate with the implementation team, development team, and client to ensure that we accurately and efficiently convert data into our solution that will meet the business requirements and product needs.
  • Ultimately, ensure that we provide an outstanding conversion experience for our client.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with experience working directly with clients.
  • 1-2 years of conversion experience or degree focusing on data analysis.
  • Ability to view and understand database tables and execute basic SQL queries.
  • Passion for details and consistency.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness and capability to train and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.
  • Ability to perform data analysis to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and patterns.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant major or equivalent year of experience.
  • Ability to engage throughout the department and the company to achieve goals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Any of the following would be a plus:
  • Dental industry knowledge
  • Experience with imaging standards such as DICOM
  • Experience using issue tracking systems, particularly Zendesk
  • SQL programming skills.
  • Experience with data analysis/reporting.
