Pioneer PBS, located in Granite Falls, Minnesota has an immediate opening in our Engineering Department for an IT/Media Specialist. This position is responsible for hands-on project implementation as directed by Chief Technology Officer, serving Pioneer PBS employees with the technology and tools to execute their jobs from production and communications to administration and master control operations.

The successful candidate for this position has completed or is working to complete a degree in a technical field or at least 4 years of IT/Media or broadcast experience. This is not a Help Desk position. It is a position responsible for helping the CTO implement IT systems in a digital media organization.

Functional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications within the company, whether desktop tools or system infrastructure.
• Maintain an up-to-date asset inventory including computers, operating systems, software, and licensing.
• Discuss issues, provide suggestions and researched potentials costs of those potential solutions.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills in preparing records, reports, and inventory management.
• Troubleshoot computer, network and media/broadcast issues that arise and communicate potential solutions with CTO and designated teams.
• Ability to provide clear information on maintenance needs and all expenses related to fixes to CTO for approval.
• Must be able to quickly determine potential solutions to complex problems and emergency situations.
• Routine maintenance of hardware and software, such as planning for and performing software upgrades and file backups on the network.
• Solve IT problems promptly.
• Assist limited computer users through phone, email, virtually or in person as assigned.
• Prepare documents for easy how to’s and train users to work with new computer hardware or software.
• Set up or repair various equipment, computer equipment and related devices.
• Assist engineering team in various larger scale projects.
• Exhibit a strong commitment to the mission and goals of Pioneer PBS.
• Research industry trends on equipment and present findings to CTO for future planning.
• Communicate status updates with teams and CTO.
• Maintains a neat, clean, safe, and organized workplace.
• Other duties as assigned and within the realm of job.

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

• Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite and various databases, video storage etc.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to all work situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills in preparing work guidelines and schedules, as well as records, reports and inventory control.
• Ability to operate test equipment, interpret results, and collaborate on corrective actions.
• Must be able to work varying hours and weekends as projects may dictate to impact users as little as possible.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, yet take direction, and work successfully in a team environment.
• Ability to remain positive and foster a positive work environment.
• Ability to document electronically the maintenance that is accomplished.

Preferred Skills

The IT/Media Specialist must have a pleasant, professional manner. Must have the ability to coordinate and meet multiple deadlines, a desire to learn software, and strong organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
