WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Revenue Cycle Manager for grants and general operations provides leadership and manages all aspects of the revenue cycle to maximize revenues and cash flows through effective, efficient and compliant billing activities, and collection practices for a variety of Pioneer Human Services departments and service lines. Tracks and bills for individual grants; oversees Pioneer Industries billing and bills for other departments as assigned. Works within a holistic workflow to integrate operations and compliance activities within other departments. Implements and documents processes, procedures and internal controls sufficient to safeguard assets, support sound business practice and financial stability, and ensure reporting integrity. Trains and develops revenue team and internal stakeholders that participate in workflows that have revenue impact. Ensures that employees are cross-trained and that department capacity and demand for services are balanced.

FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT AND RISK MANAGMENT

* Provide effective leadership of a comprehensive, strategic approach to revenue and receivables management and compliance.

* Maintain a high level of personal and professional integrity.

* Assess, design, develop, implement, evaluate and communicate the vision and direction of the department.

* Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal, state, county and city policies and directives, and current accounting standards.

* Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems related to revenue ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and contract/regulatory requirements.

* Oversee all collection efforts on past due or disputed billing. Reporting on such to CFO or SLT as needed.

* Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as revenue recognition, administration, cash and credit management, and revenue accounting.

* Support CFO in engaging the board's Finance and Audit Committee around issues and trends in accounts receivable, collections, revenue operating models and delivery.

* Oversee all revenue, contracts and grants accounting; ensure that expenses are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period.

* Ensure timely reporting, billing, rejection resolution and collections of all customer accounts in accordance with contract terms.

* Performs other duties as required

LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISORY OVERSIGHT

* Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

* Monitor and evaluate the performance of revenue accounting and billing staff, recommending and implementing personnel actions, such as promotions and dismissals.

* Continuously build individual and organizational capacity with team members, and peers, through identification of current and future skill needs.

* Couple this awareness of individual and team skill needs with business needs to identify growth opportunities.

* Ensure timely and accurate evaluations of staff through a formal performance appraisal process

* Create and maintain a respectful and collegiate atmosphere, model open and honest two-way communication with staff, peers and customers.

* Coordinate closing and other accounting activities with the Controller and Director of FP&A.

* Coordinate with the Contracts & Grants Compliance Manager and Quality Improvement and Risk Management team to create and implement an internal audit process and cycle, respond to outside auditors and implement correction action plans, and interpret grant & contract language.

* Create and maintain healthy relationships with internal and external customer representatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field - work experience may substitute for degree

* Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures

* At least five years' work experience in medical or behavioral health billing/coding

* At least seven years in a progressive leadership capacity

* Familiarity with medical terminology and practice management systems

* Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training a diverse team; foresight and ability to delegate accordingly

* Experience managing cross functional projects and ability to plan and facilitate effective meetings; demonstrated leadership skills in team and/or group settings

* Experience creating strategies, defining and articulating clear role expectations and direction

* Team player with effective non-verbal, verbal and written communication skills and an ability to interact effectively with others across the organization

* Strong multi-tasking, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records software

* Customer Service Oriented

* Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills

* Strong understanding of revenue and productivity data elements, identifying best resources for data & understanding system applications

* Previous experience with Credible and/or Epicor, or other Electronic Health Record Systems and Electronic Patient Record Systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Three or more years of supervisory experience

* CPA Certified
