Piece by Piece Moving and Storage, a reputable moving and storage company specializing in college moves, is
currently hiring a Warehouse Specialist to join our team. This position will primarily focus on local dispatch in the
morning, while also assisting with general warehouse management responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations:
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments of belongings and goods.
- Effectively label and store items in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory records, utilizing inventory control systems.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and promptly address any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the operations team to maximize warehouse space utilization.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization standards within the warehouse to ensure a safe working environment.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and promptly report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Monitor inventory levels of packing materials, moving supplies, and equipment.
- Place timely orders for replenishment to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
- Follow proper handling procedures to prevent damage to items and ensure personal safety.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and industry standards at all times.
- Dispatch local crews to jobs in the morning
- Keep up to date with paperwork and scheduling
- Train new hires
- Review time sheets and submit to payroll on weekly basis
- Learn aspects of Operations Manager position in order to increase value to company
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and software.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
